Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a Utilities Superintendent to lead daily operations of the City’s water distribution, sewer collection, and drainage systems. You will supervise field crews, coordinate with contractors, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Reports to the Director of Public Works in Greenville, TX. Qualifications include a TX Class B Water Distribution Operator license, five years in municipal utilities with supervisory duties, and strong project management skills.

Qualifications

• Five years of progressively responsible utilities experience with supervisory duties.
• Experience with water distribution, wastewater collection, drainage, and AMI systems preferred.
• Licenses: TX Class B Water Distribution Operator required.
• TX Class B CDL preferred or required within a designated period.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily operations, maintenance, and inspection of water, sewer, and drainage infrastructure.
• Supervise staff, schedule resources, and ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Plan and coordinate capital projects, scopes, and cost estimates.
• Oversee contractors and utility providers for proper installation and compliance.
• Review plans, maps, work orders, and records to assess capacity and reliability.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with TCEQ, OSHA, and other laws; maintain documentation.
• Prepare operating and capital budgets; monitor expenditures and purchasing.
• Provide technical oversight of AMI meters and related systems.
