Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Water Systems Project Manager in Denver, CO to lead technically complex drinking water, raw water transmission, and wastewater projects. The role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and client relationship management within our Water practice.

The successful candidate will guide planning, design, and construction, manage scope and costs, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance across municipal and industrial water systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 7 years of related experience in design engineering, with 3+ years in project management.
• Experience in consulting and client relationship development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for all aspects of multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Develop schedules, manage scope and control project costs while ensuring safety and quality.
• Lead and mentor project teams, foster client relationships and pursue new opportunities.
• Coordinate activities of multiple disciplines and ensure effective staff utilization.
• Oversee project communication, risk reviews, and contract negotiations.
