Job summary

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection invites applications for a Technical Analyst Associate in the Division of Water and Waste Management, State Revolving Fund, Engineering Section. You will assist professionally with project planning, design review, and field inspections under a licensed engineer.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering with ABET substitution options; four years of engineering experience are expected, and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • ABET-accredited degree may substitute for specific engineering majors.
  • Four years of full-time (or equivalent) engineering experience required.
  • Master’s degree in engineering may substitute for two years of experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Review preliminary engineering reports, facility plans, and cost considerations for wastewater and water projects.
  • Review project plans to ensure constructability, regulatory compliance, and design accuracy.
  • Perform interim and final inspections and approve change orders on projects under construction.
  • Attend design, pre-construction, and public meetings related to projects and contracts.
  • Review agreements between consultants and clients and stay updated on construction practices and costs.
  • Complete training and research to maintain current industry knowledge.
