Job summary
State of West Virginia, Department of Environment - Environmental Protection, is seeking an Engineer Associate under the Division of Water and Waste Management. The incumbent will evaluate wastewater and water projects, review plans for constructability and regulatory compliance, and participate in project meetings and inspections.
Under supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer, you will perform related duties, complete training, and contribute to program delivery for the State Revolving
Qualifications
- Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Ability to write clear reports and present findings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across levels of government and the public.
- Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Review preliminary engineering reports and facility planning studies for feasibility and alternatives.
- Review project plans and specs for wastewater and water systems for constructability and compliance.
- Perform inspections on projects and attend planning/design/construction meetings.
- Review contracts between consulting engineers and clients.
- Attend trainings and stay current with construction practices and costs.
