Job summary

American Water in New York is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for repair and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater systems. The position involves repairs, preventive maintenance, and some operations support, with roughly 90% focus on repairs and 10% on operations.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and at least five years of experience in water systems maintenance; a CDL and state licenses preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Five (5) years’ experience in maintenance of water distribution systems, water pump stations and wastewater collection systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive/corrective maintenance on water distribution systems and wastewater facilities.
• Maintain records and reports of operations and daily activities.
• Operate and coordinate outside contractors as needed.
• Follow safety policies and wear proper PPE as required.
