Job summary

City of Atlanta seeks a Watershed Construction Maintenance Worker I to support public works, water and wastewater operations, and building maintenance. You will operate light to medium construction equipment, work as part of a crew, and follow instructions to complete tasks safely and on time.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of related experience; CDL/Class A/B and water licenses are desirable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year related experience in public works, street construction and repair, water and wastewater system operation, building maintenance, or other related experience.
CDL License Class A and/or Class B, Water Distribution Licenses, Class III Operator License, Electrical License, and/or Journeyman License are desirable.
Two years' related experience preferred.
Ability to lift and carry work-related objects and operate tools safely.

Responsibilities

Inspect and repair water mains and assist with traffic control during maintenance.
Install and calibrate wastewater plant controls and related equipment.
Install water meters and document installations.
Maintain and repair plant equipment and instruments.
Follow safety procedures and complete work orders on schedule.
