Job summary

City of East Point is seeking a heavy-duty maintenance worker to perform manual tasks across water, sewer, stormwater, buildings and grounds. The role involves repairing streets, patches, grounds upkeep, and operating maintenance equipment. Candidates should have a high school diploma and a GA Class B CDL with 5 years of related experience.

Work is outdoors with exposure to weather and loud environments; safety rules apply. Supervisors provide direction and quality checks on completed work.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
• Valid State of Georgia Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains sewer lines and landscapes for the City.
• Conducts road construction and cleans streets.
• Patches potholes and repairs streets and sidewalks.
• Loads/unloads materials like stone, dirt, asphalt, pipe, timber.
• Assists in semi-skilled tasks with tools and cement/asphalt work.
• Maintains and repairs equipment and grounds; trims grass around facilities.
• Assists with storm drain installation and catch basins.
• Performs other heavy manual work in maintenance operations.
