Job summary

The Village of Fox Lake is seeking a Local Water and Sewer Utility Maintenance I to support the operation and upkeep of wells, storage tanks, filtration systems, and sewer lift stations. The role requires a valid Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements or the ability to obtain within six months, and IEPA collection system certification within one year.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen will be administered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Valid Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within six months.
• IEPA collection system certification within one year of hire.
• Pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screen required.
• Background check and references conducted before offer.

Responsibilities

• Install, read, and repair water meters.
• Check meters, gauges, pumps and control panels.
• Operate pumps, chlorinators, and chemical feeds.
• Inspect lift stations; maintain water towers.
• Log daily maintenance and work orders.
• Assist with GIS data input and reporting.
• Perform grounds maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Attend safety meetings and follow safety standards.
