Village of Lake in the Hills is seeking a Public Works Maintenance Worker to support the day-to-day upkeep of streets, parks, and public properties. The role involves operating a range of tools and vehicles, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting with repairs across infrastructure.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent and an Illinois Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement, plus at least one year in public works or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Operate tools, equipment, and light- to medium-duty vehicles for maintenance and repair.
• Inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance to extend service life.
• Maintain inventory of materials and supplies.
• Assist with street, curb, sidewalk, and related infrastructure repairs.
• Install street signs and pavement markings; set up traffic control.
• Operate street sweeper and manage debris cleanup.
• Assist with drainage system repairs and maintenance.
• Perform parks and grounds maintenance and landscaping.
