Job summary

The City of Corsicana is seeking a qualified Light Equipment Operator to operate backhoe, excavator, skid steer, sewer jetting truck and related gear for installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution and sewer systems. This role includes manual labor and outdoor duties in varying weather conditions.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, two years of utility/equipment experience, and the ability to obtain a Class C Water Distribution license within five years; a Class

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two (2) years of experience in utility or equipment operations or related experience.
• Must be able to obtain within five years a CDL or equivalent license as required by local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe to dig and backfill trenches.
• Assist in replacing or repairing damaged water and sewer lines.
• Assist in unstopping sewer lines; operate sewer jet machine.
• Clean sewerage system according to a regular maintenance schedule.
• Service and clean equipment.
• Participate in tapping water and sewer lines, leak repair, and meter installations.
• Operate boring machines to install lines beneath pavement and sidewalks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
