Job summary

City of Corsicana is seeking a qualified individual to operate heavy equipment at the municipal landfill. Responsibilities include operating bulldozers, graders, scrapers, compactors, and water trucks, plus inspections and safety monitoring.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to read/write records. Candidates must work outdoors, long shifts, and follow all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in a landfill or similar environment.
• Ability to read and write records and reports.
• Knowledge of safety precautions and ability to perform strenuous labor.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, graders, scrapers, compactors, and water trucks.
• Perform daily inspections and report issues or safety concerns.
• Direct and control traffic within the landfill and assist with site roads.
• Inspect incoming loads for compliance with TCEQ rules.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare daily/monthly reports.
• Provide customer service at the scale house and assist with billing.
