Job summary

The City of Corsicana is seeking a Bulk Solid Waste Equipment Operator to run light equipment such as skid steers, mowers, and trucks. The role involves removing brush, debris, and trash, while supporting the Bulk Solid Waste crew.

Required is a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of two years’ experience operating equipment or related work. Candidates must read, write, and communicate effectively with staff, the public, and contractors while following safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating equipment or related work.
• Equivalent combinations of education and municipal work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate light equipment and tools such as mowers, weed-eaters, chainsaws, shovels, skid loaders, tractors, trucks, and trailers.
• Trim and remove trees; lift and haul brush and debris; mow, weed, and clear drainage areas.
• Clean and maintain drainage ditches, channels, inlets, and gutters.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance and field repairs; support general construction and maintenance activities.
