Job summary

Franklin County NC is seeking a knowledgeable Utilities Inspector to ensure the safety, quality, and reliability of our water and sewer infrastructure. You will perform inspections, review construction plans, and verify compliance with codes and standards while working with contractors and county staff.

Responsibilities include on-site inspections during construction and at completion, coordination with contractors, and ensuring OSHA safety regulations are followed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and two years of related construction or engineering experience.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Experience inspecting water/sewer construction and ensuring code compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and verify adherence to specifications.
• Inspect work in progress and upon completion for compliance with approved plans and OSHA safety regulations.
• Meet with contractors to review requirements and resolve issues.
• Maintain records and reports of inspection activities and findings.
• Coordinate with project teams and respond to on-site inspections as needed.
