Franklin County is seeking a hardworking Utilities Maintenance Worker to support the community’s vital water systems. The role includes laying, repairing and replacing pipelines, maintaining treatment facilities and performing meter readings.

Essential duties cover equipment maintenance at plants, pump stations and lift stations, along with basic trades work and on-call responsibilities. A high school diploma and NC driver’s license are required.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent with maintenance or construction experience.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
• Ability to work on-call on a weekly rotation.
• Ability to read maps and follow service manuals.

Aufgaben

• Lay, repair and replace water and sewer pipes; maintain wastewater lines.
• Maintain equipment at water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and lift stations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on booster stations, lift stations and plants.
• Read water meters and perform readings; manage water shutoffs per work orders.
• Operate basic construction equipment and perform minor repairs.
• Assist with various trades as needed by the department.
• On-call rotation duties weekly.
