Job summary

The City of Rawlins is seeking a Utilities Systems Worker I to maintain water distribution and sewer collections systems. Under supervision, you will operate trucks and medium equipment, perform line repairs, install meters, and support water/wastewater operations in a field-based environment.

Required high school diploma, one year of maintenance experience with light equipment, and a Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
One year of maintenance or construction work with light equipment.
Experience in water and sewer systems preferred.
Ability to obtain Level I State Certification within one year.
Valid Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement.
On-call availability as assigned.

Responsibilities

Maintain water mains and sewer lines; locate and repair breaks.
Lay new lines and repair mains; operate heavy equipment as needed.
Operate sewer jet, pumps, excavators, tampers, pipe saws, compressors, jack hammers and dump trucks.
Perform minor equipment maintenance; read meters and install meters and remote devices.
Respond to complaints and maintain records; monitor for cross connections.
Turn valves/hydrants and assist in inspections and manhole repairs.
Assist in operation of the asphalt plant; haul materials as required.
