Job summary

Desoto Group Inc is seeking a Water and Wastewater Technician to repair and maintain water and sewer systems across the city. This role includes site preparation, digging, and exposing lines for repairs, plus restoring landscape after work.

You will ensure traffic safety, locate mains, respond to on-call needs, and coordinate with the public about closures. A high school diploma, valid driver's license, and Class D Water License within a year are required; callback eligibility applies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Class D Water License must be obtained within one year of employment.
• Position is subject to callback.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sites for work by excavating and exposing water/sewer lines to repair.
• Repair water and sewer lines and mains.
• Maintain vehicles and inspect sites.
• Answer questions from customers and inform the public about closures.
• Maintain traffic safety with cones, barricades, and signs; direct traffic as needed.
• Locate water and sewer mains and valves for contractors.
• On-call work to handle duties as they arise.
• Ensure continuous operation by repairing pipes and reconnecting lines.
