Job summary

The City of High Point is seeking a Water & Sewer Mains Technician to maintain and repair water mains, sewer lines, taps, hydrants, and meters to ensure reliable service for residents. You will work with a dedicated crew on a variety of daily tasks in all weather conditions.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, being at least 18 years old, and flexibility for nights, weekends, and on‑call shifts. CDL endorsement is a plus; adherence to OSHA and city safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and 18+ years old.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and on-call.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized sewer cleaning equipment (flusher, vacuum, rodding).
• Assist in installing, replacing and repairing water mains, sewer lines, taps, hydrants, valves, meters.
• Respond to water/sewer line issues and clean lines and manholes as needed.
• Raise and lower manholes and valve boxes; tap high‑pressure lines and make connections.
• Inspect sewer lines using TV inspection systems; ensure safety and compliance.
