Job summary

The City of High Point seeks a Sewer Mains Specialist to support the daily operations of the Collection System. You will work hands-on with data collection, system maintenance, and reporting to state agencies, ensuring safety and reliability of water and sewer facilities.

This role requires teamwork and adherence to city policies. Responsibilities include assisting with field inspections, coordinating with departments, and maintaining accurate records while responding to emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• On-Call on a regular rotating basis.
• Must lift a minimum of 50 pounds with assistance.
• NC Grade III Wastewater Collection Certification or obtain it.
• OSHA 10-hour safety course within 1 year.
• First-Aid/CPR/AED certification within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily operations of the collection system and back-up ORCs.
• Prepare and file reports for Federal, State, and City agencies.
• Operate monitoring equipment and assist with cleaning and maintenance.
• Support lab, pretreatment, maintenance, engineering and planning as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with city departments.
