Job summary

The City of Port St. Lucie is seeking a skilled inspector for water, sewer, and reuse systems within the Utility Systems Department. The role focuses on inspecting construction, producing accurate maps and drawings, and ensuring compliance with specifications.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, relevant training, and at least four years of inspection experience, including water/wastewater operations. A Florida driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; courses in engineering, drafting, and inspection techniques preferred.
• Minimum 4 years inspecting water, sewer, and reuse systems; 12 months in water/wastewater operations within Utility Systems.
• Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect water and sewer facilities to ensure new construction meets specifications and report deficiencies.
• Prepare red line drawings and as-built drawings for accuracy.
• Physically locate potable water distribution and wastewater systems, including marking facilities.
• Monitor job progress and prepare written reports; maintain regular attendance and enforce safety practices.
