Job summary

Responsibilities

• Supervise, guide, check, inspect, and report on the work of assigned staff engaged in the maintenance, repair, and construction of water distribution and sewage collection systems.
• Ensure job site safety and interpret plans and system maps for crews.
• Participate in interviews and recommend the selection of new employees; responsible for job-specific training, performance evaluations, and direct oversight of assigned staff.
• Collaborate and coordinate with other divisions for GIS updates and field verifications.
• Delegate routine tasks such as equipment maintenance and facility upkeep; lead safety and staff meetings.
• Train team members to develop maximum potential through hands-on training or formal programs.
• Operate heavy equipment (backhoes, loaders, flusher trucks, etc.) and high-pressure sewer equipment; instruct crews on safe operation.
• Prepare reports and/or work orders documenting personnel time, equipment, and materials used.
• Provide feedback through performance reviews and collect data for schedules and customer inquiries.
• Manage inventory and place orders for equipment and supplies; update SOPs as needed.
• Lead CIP work setup and act as C&D lead for unit price contractors.
