Job summary

The Town of Erie is seeking Water Safety Instructors to teach swimming, promote water safety, and educate participants on aquatic emergencies. This part-time, hourly role supports a positive community-centered culture and requires current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification or equivalent, with CPR/First Aid/AED credentials.

Availability on Tue/Thu mornings/evenings and Saturdays is preferred. Weekly shifts are offered in support of Aquatics Operations, Training, and administrative

Qualifications

• Must have a current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification or equivalent.
• Will be required to gain American Red Cross Certification within first 3 months.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certification

Responsibilities

• Instructs aquatic programs using the American Red Cross curriculum.
• Maintains a safe, effective and supportive learning environment.
• Plans, prepares, and leads group or individual aquatic instruction.
• Sets up and takes down required program equipment.
• Maintains program attendance records and provides guest service to participants.
