Job summary

Geneva Lakes Family YMCA seeks a Safety Around Water Program Manager to organize and implement quality water safety programs across locations as needed. The role builds positive relationships with students, parents, and community partners, and promotes water safety within YMCA values.

This seasonal position depends on grant funding and is not guaranteed every school year. It requires experience teaching or organizing aquatic programs, strong judgment, leadership, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching and/or organizing aquatic programs.
• Ability to lead others and make sound judgments.
• Ability to communicate effectively with participants, partners, staff, and A.D.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 60 days.
• Child abuse prevention training within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day program operation and ensure consistency with evidence-based practices.
• Plan and implement culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Coordinate enrollment and pool schedule.
• Assign and schedule Safety Around Water program sessions.
• Maintain forms, documentation, and staff certifications.
• Coordinate emergency action plans and safety aligned with YMCA requirements.
• Mentor swim instructors to improve skills.
