Responsibilities

1. Instruct swimming techniques, including various strokes, to students from infants to adults.
2. Teach basic diving, safety, and survival skills.
3. Collaborate with lifeguards to ensure safety during swim lessons.
4. Enforce pool safety standards and operational rules.
5. Plan and organize instruction methods based on program guidelines.
6. Develop swim programs tailored to student abilities and promote progression.
7. Provide feedback to parents/guardians on student progress.
8. Inspect and maintain instructional equipment.
9. Administer assessments and certifications per policies.
10. Complete records, reports, and handle emergencies appropriately.
11. Assist in organizing special programs and activities.
12. Maintain a safe environment through regular cleaning and equipment checks.
13. Provide information to patrons and handle cash transactions when applicable.

Requirements

• Current certifications: Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens.
• Ability to work varied schedules, including holidays and weekends.
• Ability to work with hazardous materials.
• Must pass E-Verify and meet other employment conditions.

Qualifications

• All five certifications listed above must be submitted with the application.
• Knowledge of instructional methods, safety standards, and water safety equipment.
• Ability to swim 300 yards in less than 10 minutes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to handle water rescues.

Additional Information

Salary depends on experience and education. Must complete a probationary period and participate in direct deposit. Spouse preference available with proper documentation. Must register with the Selective Service if applicable. Employment is drug-free as per Executive Order 12564. Additional requirements include travel and flexible scheduling.
