The primary function of this position is to instruct swimming and water safety classes at the Aquatics facility for patrons of all ages.
Must submit all five certifications with resume; failure to do so disqualifies application. Additional qualifications include knowledge of instructional methods, safety standards, basic water safety equipment, first aid procedures, arithmetic skills, cash handling, swimming ability (300 yards in less than 10 minutes), and effective communication skills.
Must be able to work varied schedules including holidays, weekends, and evenings, and handle hazardous materials.
Salary depends on experience and education. Some positions have special requirements. A one-year probation may be required. Participation in Direct Deposit/EFT and E-Verify is mandatory. Spouses of active duty military may have preference if qualified and within reach of selection. Additional requirements include obtaining a Government Travel Card if travel exceeds twice per year. All federal employees must remain drug-free per Executive Order 12564. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must register with the Selective Service System.
