Duties
  1. Instructs various levels of swimming including strokes such as front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly, etc., teaching students from infants to adults.
  2. Instructs basic diving, safety, and survival skills.
  3. Works with lifeguards to ensure safety during swim lessons.
  4. Enforces pool safety standards and facility rules.
  5. Plans and organizes instruction methods supporting the Aquatics Program guidelines.
  6. Organizes activities to ensure high-quality instruction.
  7. Develops swim programs based on student ability and promotes progression.
  8. Provides feedback to parents/guardians about student progress.
  9. Provides equipment orientations as needed.
  10. Inspects equipment for safety and informs supervisors of deficiencies.
  11. Administers assessments and certifications per DoD, DON, and CNIC policies.
  12. Completes and submits lesson records and documentation.
  13. Works with the Program Manager to improve teaching skills.
  14. Prepares incident reports during emergencies.
  15. Handles hazardous materials safely.
  16. Checks patron identification for proper usage.
  17. Assists in developing special programs and activities.
  18. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and environment.
  19. Provides information via phone about operations and events.
  20. Handles cash and completes daily reports.
Requirements
  • Must submit current certifications: Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens.
  • Salary must be received via Direct Deposit/EFT.
  • Must pass E-Verify employment verification.
Qualifications

Must submit all five current certifications with resume. Failure to do so will disqualify the application. Additional qualifications include knowledge of instructional methods, assessment policies, safety equipment, basic water safety, and first aid procedures. Ability to swim 300 yards in less than 10 minutes, assess and instruct swimming skills, enforce safety regulations, and communicate effectively are required.

Must be able to work flexible schedules, including holidays, weekends, and evenings, and handle hazardous materials.

Additional Information

Salary depends on experience and education. Some positions have special requirements. A one-year probationary period may be required. Participation in Direct Deposit/EFT and compliance with E-Verify are mandatory. Spouses of active duty military members may receive preference if qualified and within reach of selection, with proper documentation.
