Job summary

Cambridge-Isanti School District 911 Community Education in Cambridge, MN seeks a Water Safety Instructor to lead swim lessons and manage class safety. Responsibilities

• Follow lesson plans for each swim lesson and test for assigned levels.
• Direct and maintain control of class participants and ensure a safe environment.
• Accurately maintain paperwork for each class and communicate with staff and the public.
• Follow program policies, rules, and established emergency procedures; respond quickly in emergencies.
• Maintain current required certifications and perform related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Qualifications/Experience:

This position is responsible for teaching and leading swim lessons.

This position requires American Red Cross Certification.

Newly hired team members may be eligible for up to half off reimbursement of initial American Red Cross Courses.

Successful background check required if over 18.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Needed:

Must hold current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI). Must be at least 16 years old

Specific Tasks:

Responsible for accurately following lesson plans at each swim lesson. Responsible for testing for assigned levels. Ability to direct and maintain control of class participants. Accurately maintain paperwork for each class. Ability to communicate effectively with the general public and staff members. Maintain a safe environment for all participants and staff. Know and enforce all program policies and rules. Follow established emergency procedures. Recognize and respond quickly and effectively in an emergency situation.
