Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Discipline Leader for Water Reuse in the Southeast region, based in Florida, to guide the planning, design, and delivery of water reclamation projects and to grow the firm's technical leadership. You will collaborate with practice leaders, lead the team, engage with clients and presenters at conferences, and mentor engineers across levels while advancing reusable water solutions.

This role requires PE licensure, a Civil/Environmental/Chemical background, and travel

Qualifications

• A comprehensive knowledge of industry reuse regulations in key Southeast markets, including Florida.
• Strong technical and business leadership.
• Expert knowledge of engineering principles of design.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and coordinates with other subject matter experts on the delivery of water reclamation and water reuse projects.
• Performs and coordinates with designated team members for quality checking of documents for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed.
• Collaborates with the Water Reuse Practice Leader and sales staff to support proposals in response to requests for Proposals (RFPs). Reviews draft proposals as part of technical review team for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations, and best practices. Meets with current and potential future clients as needed to review their current and future project needs.
• Attends and presents at conferences, symposia, etc. to contribute to the technical luminescence and visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with PLs, DLs, sales and other technical staff.
• Provides technical guidance and training to senior, mid-level and junior staff working on water reclamation and reuse projects. Mentors staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm. Supervises the work of engineers on project work and delegates as necessary.
• Alternative delivery experience such as progressive design build is a plus.
