Job summary

The Environmental Scientist II role supports Delaware's Division of Water, Water Allocation Branch, focusing on water supply assessment and protecting state resources. You will receive and analyze analytical data, review permit applications, conduct field investigations, maintain databases, and prepare technical reports while responding to regulatory inquiries from state, local, and federal agencies.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, along with a valid driver's license

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, or Applied Science or related field
  • One year of experience analyzing and evaluating scientific data
  • One year of experience interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures
  • One year of experience in technical report writing
  • Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

  • Receive and analyze analytical data for water supply assessment.
  • Review permit applications and conduct field investigations as needed.
  • Maintain and update databases with relevant water resources data.
  • Prepare technical reports describing analyses, methods, and conclusions.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries from state, local, and federal agencies.
