Job summary

RIM Recruitment Professionals is seeking a Project Manager - Water Resources in California. The role leads groundwater and water resources projects from planning through implementation, reporting to a team leader, and guiding both management and technical direction.

Responsibilities include SGMA compliance, groundwater modeling, water budgeting, and client management. Travel up to 25% and a focus on delivering high-quality work on schedule.

Qualifications

• Education aligns with hydrology/geology/earth sciences/engineering or related field.
• Experience: 5+ years; 8+ years for SGMA projects; 2+ years in project management.
• Master's/PhD plus registration, or 12+ years if registration not available.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Coordinate SGMA implementation across multiple Groundwater Sustainability Agencies.
• Oversee hydrogeologic models, water balances, numerical models, and client actions.
• Author memoranda, reports, including GSPs and SGMA annual reports.
• QA/QC on all deliverables.
• Act as primary client contact and lead meetings with clients and external parties.
• Plan and guide staff to deliver quality work on time and budget.
• Manage schedules, budgets, invoicing, and monthly progress reports.
• Deliver presentations to explain complex concepts to broad audiences.
• Support client development, proposal writing, and conference presentations.
