Job summary

BRUDIS & ASSOCIATES, INC. in Columbia, Maryland seeks a Project Engineer for the Water Resources and Environmental Department.

The successful candidate will lead design efforts, coordinate with project managers and engineers across multiple disciplines, and manage schedules, budgets, and quality. Requirements include a BSCE, 5–7 years of design experience, PE qualification (or reciprocity), proficiency with Microstation and AutoCAD, and experience with hydrology/hydraulic modeling and SWM/bmp

Qualifications

• BSCE in Civil Engineering or appropriate discipline.
• 5-7 years of design experience in appropriate discipline.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in applicable jurisdiction (or ability to apply for reciprocity).
• MD SHA and local MD jurisdictions are preferred.
• Strong CAD skills, proficient using Microstation and associated design software.
• SWM design that includes BMPS, storm drains, grading, and stream restoration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide guidance and share technical knowledge with entry-level engineers.
• Ability to work well within a project team by building relationships and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design elements across various engineering disciplines with other project engineers for the development of plans, specifications, and estimates.
• Communicate design progress with project managers and utilize entry-level design engineers to complete tasks.
• Maintain understanding of design procedures for applicable clients and permit processes for review agencies.
• Lead designer for project development including roadway drainage, open/closed drainage systems, SWM, erosion control, floodplain studies and related analyses.
