Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to lead and coordinate municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, water, wastewater, and drainage systems in the Knoxville area. This role focuses on design, implementation, and regulatory compliance, with opportunities to mentor junior staff and manage client relationships.

You will prepare construction documents, calculations, and summaries, work with stakeholders, and support budgets and schedules to ensure on-time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with municipal focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects (roads, water/wastewater, stormwater).
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders to define scope, goals and deliverables.
• Prepare and review designs, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Ensure regulatory compliance throughout project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and staff.
• Conduct site assessments and field inspections to inform design.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Coordinate sub-consultants and contractors to meet objectives.
• Support business development through proposals and client presentations.
• Participate in public meetings and client communications.
• Develop and manage QA/QC plans for project standards.
