Job summary

JT Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to lead stormwater and drainage design across Wisconsin projects.

You will apply hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to support transportation and site development, coordinating with teams and clients for successful outcomes. The role requires a Civil Engineering BS with Water Resources focus, 5+ years of experience, and a PE license or progression toward one.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering with Water Resources emphasis.
• 5+ years in water resources engineering focusing on stormwater.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficient in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop stormwater management systems including detention/retention ponds and infiltration systems.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to assess drainage capacity and flood risks using HEC-RAS, SWMM, and related tools.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate water resources into transportation and site projects.
• Prepare environmental reports, permits, and impact assessments ensuring compliance.
• Lead water resource projects including scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination.
• Serve as primary client contact providing technical leadership and proposal support.
• Oversee site inspections and construction to ensure design accuracy.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on industry practices.
