Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Water Resources emphasis.
  • 5+ years in water resources engineering, emphasizing stormwater management.
  • PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM).
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS.
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal water regulations.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for work or professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop stormwater management systems (detention/retention ponds, infiltration systems, conveyance channels) ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to assess water flow, flood risks, and drainage capacity using HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate water resource solutions into transportation and site development projects
  • Prepare and review environmental reports, permits, and impact assessments, ensuring regulatory adherence and sustainability
  • Lead and manage water resource projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination
  • Serve as the primary client contact, providing technical expertise, ensuring project goals, and supporting proposal preparationConduct site inspections and oversee construction to ensure design specifications are met
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, applying innovative solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff in water resource engineering
  • Adhere to internal Quality Control processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
