Job summary

HWC Engineering in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Civil Engineer to advance municipal water, wastewater and stormwater projects. You will develop designs, perform analyses, and contribute to planning, construction administration, and reports for funding agencies.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in civil engineering, 3–5 years of related experience, and the ability to obtain an Indiana license or have EIT/PE credentials. Strong communication and data skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with an emphasis in Water Resources projects preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the civil engineering industry preferred.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) designation or Professional Engineering license (or the ability to acquire a license in Indiana through reciprocity).
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to think critically, manage time and problem solve.
• Strong data analysis and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Understanding design concepts and calculations for water, wastewater and stormwater drainage projects.
• Developing municipal water, wastewater and stormwater projects including planning, design, construction administration and inspection, and preliminary engineering reports for funding agencies.
• Preparing bidding documents for municipal public works projects.
• Interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating engineering projects with unique and complex criteria.
