Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. in the Charlotte area seeks a Water Resources Project Engineer (PE) to support design and construction of municipal stormwater and watershed projects.

You will work with a collaborative team to advance hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, plan development, and environmental restoration efforts. The role requires a PE license and a bachelor’s in Civil/Water Resources, with 5–10 years of civil-engineering experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Biosystems Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, including hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
  • Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation, GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, P8, and GIS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed design computations.
  • Conduct preliminary layout, modeling, and design.
  • Research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
  • Assist with project design and preparation of plans and specifications, and prepare cost and quantity take‑off estimates.
  • Assist with plan reviews, storm‑water pollution prevention plans, design of storm‑water facilities, storm‑water detention and retention design, water‑quality design, and storm‑water management planning.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Biosystems Engineering from an accredited college or university
