Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer (PE) to join our Water Resources team in Wilmington, NC. You will support project managers through design and construction phases of municipal stormwater projects, stream restoration, dam rehabilitation, and watershed studies, with a focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and plan development.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Civil/Water Resources/Biosystems Eng., a PE license, 5–10 years of relevant experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Biosystems Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
• 5-10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, including hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
• Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation, GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, P8, and GIS.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design computations.
• Conduct preliminary layout, modeling, and design.
• Research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
• Assist with project design and preparation of plans and specifications, and prepare cost and quantity take-off estimates.
• Assist with plan reviews, storm-water pollution prevention plans, design of storm-water facilities, storm-water detention and retention design, water-quality design, and storm-water management planning.
