Job summary

Bolton & Menk, Inc. in the Water Resources team seeks a Project Engineer, PE to support municipal stormwater projects and watershed studies in North Carolina, including Wake Forest.

You will collaborate with a skilled team to design, model, and deliver infrastructure that protects communities. The role focuses on hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, plan development, and construction support, with growth opportunities and licensure advancement through hands-on experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Biosystems Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of progressive civil engineering experience, including hydraulic and hydrologic modeling.
  • Experience in plan and specification development with construction contract administration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation, GeoPAK Drainage, HydroCAD, P8, and GIS.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed design computations.
  • Conduct preliminary layout, modeling, and design.
  • Research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
  • Assist with project design and preparation of plans and specifications, and prepare cost and quantity take‑off estimates.
  • Assist with plan reviews, storm‑water pollution prevention plans, design of storm‑water facilities, storm‑water detention and retention design, water‑quality design, and storm‑water management planning.
