Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. in Williamsburg, MI is seeking motivated individuals to perform water resources engineering technician duties in our Traverse City area office. You will collect field data, observe construction, prepare drawings with AutoCAD and ArcGIS, and develop hydrologic models using HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS and SWMM.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, AS degree in Engineering Technology, in pursuit of BS degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geology Engineering, or related field highly preferred.
• Previous experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and valid driver's license are required.
• Must be willing to travel
• Preference will also be given toward candidates with experience using AutoCAD, ArcMap and surveying equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform field data collection, and construction observation and documentation for restoration and infrastructure projects.
• Develop plans and drawings utilizing AutoCAD and ArcGIS tools.
• Analyze GIS datasets and survey data for development of hydrologic and hydraulic models (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, HY-8, etc).
• Travel to project sites occasionally required, including overnight travel.
