Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Water Resources intern who will support with project design, documentation, and educational development while gaining practical experience.

The intern role is for a full-time student pursuing an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, offering hands-on exposure to transportation projects and learning through close supervision and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Full-time student pursuing ABET-accredited undergraduate degree in civil engineering.
• Interest in transportation projects.
• Familiarity with design and production software.
• Ability to prepare clear, organized written materials.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with basic design tasks and documentation.
• Help prepare drawings and documents for project phases.
• Support creation of presentation and marketing materials.
• Attend team meetings and collaborate with team members.
• Learn and apply company standards and quality control procedures.
• Participate in site visits and field activities when needed.
• Receive guidance from supervisors and work with multidisciplinary team.
