Job summary

Stanley Consultants invites applications for a Student Intern in Civil or Environmental Engineering in Chicago, IL. This onsite position supports studies, designs, and construction observation for the Water/Wastewater Department, with tasks across water, wastewater, water reuse, and water resources projects.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, have an interest in water resources, and are eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering
• Must be at least a college sophomore with a minimum 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
• Must have an interest in water wastewater, water reuse and/or water resources
• Knowledge of Microstation, AutoCAD, Revit, and/or GIS software is a plus
• Must possess strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Must possess good writing skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering tasks such as data collection and analysis
• Check design computations and quantity estimates
• Prepare preliminary calculations and designs of treatment processes, piping, and pumping facilities
• Assist with development of reports, specifications, and plans
• Periodic observation of ongoing construction projects; some travel and field work may be required
