Job summary

Stanley Consultants, an award-winning global engineering firm, is seeking a Student Intern in the Water/Wastewater Department for our Chicago, IL office. The role involves assisting with water-related projects, data analysis, and preliminary design tasks.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, is a sophomore with a 3.0 GPA or higher, and has interest in water resources. Onsite work, potential for future full-time employment, and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
• Must be at least a college sophomore with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Must have an interest in water, wastewater, water reuse and/or water resources.
• Knowledge of Microstation, AutoCAD, Revit, and/or GIS software is a plus.
• Must possess strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must possess good writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering tasks such as collection and analysis of data; checking design computations and quantity estimates; preparing preliminary calculations and designs of treatment processes, piping, and pumping facilities.
• Assist with development of reports, specifications, and plans.
• Periodic observation of on-going construction projects; travel and field work may be required.
