Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. in Traverse City, Michigan is seeking motivated individuals to perform water resources engineering technician duties.

You will work with engineers, scientists and field technicians on field data collection, construction observation and documentation for restoration and infrastructure projects. Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; AS degree in Engineering Technology preferred.
• Pursuit of BS degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geology Engineering encouraged.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
• Preference given to candidates with AutoCAD, ArcMap and surveying equipment experience.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

• Candidates will work with engineers, scientist and field technicians while performing field data collection, and construction observation and documentation for restoration and infrastructure projects.
• Development of plans and drawings utilizing AutoCAD and ArcGIS tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, AS degree in Engineering Technology, in pursuit of BS degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geology Engineering, or related field highly preferred.
• Previous experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and valid driver’s license are required.
• Must be willing to travel
• Preference will also be given toward candidates with experience using AutoCAD, ArcMap and surveying equipment.
