Job summary

EnSafe seeks a Hydrology & Hydraulics Engineer in Houston to work on a diverse portfolio for public and private clients. You will contribute technical expertise across planning, analyses, modeling, and reporting in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

The role emphasizes multidisciplinary project delivery, regulatory coordination, and clear communication of complex findings, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related ABET-accredited engineering discipline.
  • EIT certification, or the ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
  • 3-5 years of experience in hydrology, hydraulics, water resources engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D).
  • Experience with floodplain analysis, stormwater management, drainage design, watershed studies, and/or flood mitigation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Support and manage hydrology and hydraulics projects from planning through completion for public and private sector clients.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for flood studies, drainage improvements, stormwater management systems, watershed evaluations, and related civil infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and review HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D) models and interpret results to support engineering recommendations and design decisions.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, exhibits, and engineering documentation that meet client, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, scientists, and other technical professionals to deliver multidisciplinary projects.
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination to support successful project delivery.
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies in a clear and concise manner.
  • Support permitting efforts and coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies as required.
  • Contribute to proposal development, client relationship management, and the pursuit of new project opportunities.
