This role will lead hydrologic and hydraulic engineering projects for municipal, state, and federal clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in hydrology and hydraulics, along with proven project management and client-facing experience.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required.
  • Active PE license.
  • 7+ years of relevant consulting and design experience.
  • 2+ years of engineering project management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design.
  • Strong HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS experience.
  • Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling preferred.
  • GIS experience applied to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.

  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Perform and oversee H&E modeling and design.
  • Utilize HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS for hydraulic and hydrologic analysis.

  • Oversee plan production and prepare cost estimates.
  • Support marketing, proposal development, and business development efforts.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and designers.

Job description

A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking a Water Resources Project Manager to join its Houston-area team. This position will lead hydrologic and hydraulic engineering projects for municipal, state, federal, and other public-sector clients while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in hydrology and hydraulics along with proven project management and client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 7+ years of relevant consulting and design experience
  • 2+ years of engineering project management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design
  • Strong HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS experience
  • Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling preferred
  • GIS experience applied to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Strong communication and client-management skills
  • Consulting experience focused primarily on hydrology and hydraulics
