Stantec’s multi-disciplinary office in Minneapolis, MN has an opportunity for a Water Resources Technician. This position requires the flexibility to work in the office and on construction sites, performing inspection duties.

While the majority of the work will be in the Twin Cities metro area, there will be occasional travel for extended periods for projects in Greater Minnesota or neighboring states. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated, energetic person who is interested in

Qualifications

• Technical degree or diploma in a related field, with 0–2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of the Twin Cities metro area and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to Greater Minnesota and neighboring states.

Responsibilities

• Conduct erosion control, stormwater, and environmental compliance inspections on active construction sites.
• Determine restoration methods for wetlands, ensuring seed mixes meet SWPP, VMP, and AIMP.
• Monitor construction activity to prevent noxious weed infestation and document QA/QC.
• Review erosion and sediment control plans and SWPPPs.
• Assist with NPDES program development and MS4 permits and SWPPPs.
• Interpret federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and prepare technical reports.
• Interact with multidisciplinary teams and travel for extended periods as needed.
