Job summary

WSP USA invites applications for a Water Resources Engineering Intern position in Seattle, WA. This 12-week summer internship targets undergraduates or graduate students, offering hands-on exposure to real projects alongside senior staff within our Water Team.

Participants gain mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network, enabling growth in technical, professional, and ethical skills while supporting project research, field work, and preliminary design activities.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of Dec 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in water or related field and desire to advance skills.
• Interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineers and non-engineering audience.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to health, safety and harassment policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
