Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a senior civil/water resources engineer to lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, develop construction documents, and guide multi-disciplinary teams. You will mentor junior staff, participate in field investigations, and support business development and proposals for water resources and civil projects.

The role requires a PE, 12+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication with regulators, clients, and subcontractors. Travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
  • 12+ years of post-education experience in civil and water resources engineering.
  • Professional Engineer certification.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering and environmental permitting.
  • Ability to lead junior staff and coordinate with regulators and clients.
  • Experience leading hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tasks and design.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil3D for plans and grading design.
  • Excellent communication and ability to manage schedules and travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead staff in developing hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM.
  • Create civil construction documents: drawings, specs, and estimates.
  • Oversee QA activities and participate in field investigations.
  • Interact with regulators, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
  • Ensure conformance with rules, standards, and permits.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
  • Prepare technical reports and client presentations.
  • Lead project scoping and business development efforts.
  • Support proposal development including approaches and pricing.
