Job summary

WSP is seeking an entry-level Water Resources Engineer to support analysis, design, and development of water-related infrastructure in Houston. You will collect environmental data, study water cycles, and help model hydrology and hydraulic scenarios.

You will assist with quality control, follow safety guidelines, and generate concise documentation. A Bachelor’s degree with an EIT is preferred; strong writing and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with water resources engineering concepts (water supply, quality, management).
  • Familiarity with environmental laws, regulations, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Self-leadership, multitasking, and attention to detail in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team and meet objectives.
  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, math, and predictive models.

Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, collect and compile environmental data from samples.
  • Study water cycles and directions to determine influence of weather and environmental forces.
  • Maintain quality control standards for accurate measurements.
  • Assist with basic professional water resources engineering work across listed domains.
  • Assist with site verification and entry-level technical issues.
  • Generate documentation using electronic systems and field notebooks.
  • Comply with safety guidelines and site procedures, logbooks, and data records.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
