Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Water Resources Engineer to contribute to municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater projects in Richards Bay. You will plan, design, and manage infrastructure to support sustainable water management and public health.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with specialization in water resources, at least six years’ municipal experience, and proficiency with EPANET or HEC-RAS.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in water resource engineering, municipal infrastructure.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software such as EPANET and HEC-RAS.
• Experience with water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
• Knowledge of South African water quality regulations and environmental impact assessments.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage water supply systems, including treatment plants, distribution networks, and pumping stations.
• Develop and implement wastewater collection and treatment solutions, ensuring environmental compliance.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for stormwater management systems and flood risk assessment.
• Prepare feasibility studies, design reports, and cost estimates for water-related infrastructure projects.
• Oversee construction and commissioning of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Collaborate with municipal authorities, environmental agencies, and stakeholders on water resource strategies.
