Job summary

RIVUS Consulting is seeking a Hydraulic / Water Resources Engineer to support stormwater, drainage, floodplain, and infrastructure projects in the Baltimore area. The candidate will develop, calibrate, and apply hydraulic models to evaluate drainage systems and identify capacity constraints, working with multidisciplinary teams on municipal assignments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental/Water Resources Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, stormwater, floodplain, or water resources.
  • Demonstrated H&H modeling experience; proficiency with InfoWorks ICM.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, StormCAD, SewerGEMS, HydroCAD or similar.
  • Strong understanding of closed-conduit and open-channel hydraulics and drainage-system analysis.
  • Ability to interpret survey data, GIS information, and engineering plans.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for stormwater, drainage, watershed, and flood-mitigation projects.
  • Develop, update, troubleshoot, and analyze PCSWMM and InfoWorks ICM models.
  • Model storm-drain systems, channels, culverts, storage facilities, and drainage networks.
  • Evaluate drainage-system capacity and identify hydraulic deficiencies and flood-prone locations.
  • Develop and evaluate alternatives for drainage and flood-mitigation improvements.
  • Prepare drainage-area delineations, design-storm analyses, flow calculations, and hydraulic profiles.
  • Coordinate modelling results with GIS, survey, CAD, and engineering design information.
  • Assist with agency coordination and responses to technical review comments.
